One-to-one’s
We are a small agency, so we have running conversations about how things are going.
But we do set aside 30 minute one-to-one’s with your line manager on the last Thursday of every month. This can be either in-person or on Zoom. The objective is to discuss business objectives and for you to raise any thoughts or ideas you may have. On some occasions there may not be any items to discuss, but it’s good to know there is a time set aside for a one-to-one. All one-to-one’s are scheduled through Breathe.
Please note these are in addition to yearly review where we discuss roles, salary and bonuses, which happen in January.

We are always excited about new business, so let us know if you know anyone in need of a strong brand, website or campaign. We will pay an introduction fee for new business brought in to the studio. We are trialling a set fee system for 2022 outlined below. These bounces will be added to your monthly pay once the we have invoiced the targeted amount.

Advancement and growth
We want people to be the best they possibly can. So we encourage personal and professional development. This is discussed in your yearly reviews. But if you have any burning goals or ideas that will help you and the business grow, please run them past your line manager.
Time management, collaboration and ideas
There can be an awful lot of information to take in when you are briefed on a project, so it’s a great idea to make notes of instructions, ideas, deadlines etc. If you are not sure of anything please ask one of us – we won’t mind and it’s better than struggling on in silence!
We have a very collaborative, open studio so don’t be afraid to offer ideas and suggestions for projects or studio life in general. We really like it when people come to the table full of ideas!
Sometimes we can be crazily busy, and sometimes things can be a bit quiet. If you find yourself struggling to get something finished on time, or you are sitting around with nothing to do, please let your line manager know and they can help out.
Passwords
WiFi
Orangery (password is orangesorlemons) This is the network that allows you to access the server, so good for use on laptops, but your mac might already be wired in, so you won’t need to connect it.
1Password
When you join Orangery, you will have access to a shared and personal 1Password account. In here you will find all the passwords you will need for day to day tasks, i.e. emails, app logins etc. We keep all general passwords in the shared section on 1Password, and if you add any logins you create, they will go in your named password area on your account.
Useful tools
StreamTime
StreamTime is our project management tool. It’s where we manage everything to do with our jobs, from quoting, to opening jobs, setting to do’s and invoicing. Basically, this is where it all happens. You will be given a log in and we will give you an induction. There are also lots of great videos to watch to familiarise yourself with it but we’ve found it pretty intuitive.
Slack
We use slack for all internal communications. You’ll see we have different channels for individual clients so everything is easy to find. We also use it to share inspiration and links to site so we can all benefit from our collective learning.
BreatheHR
BreatheHR is what we use to. manage our people. It’s a secure site where all your information will be kept, including important medical information, it’s also used for managing performance, scheduling one-to-ones and the system we use for requesting holiday. We will give you your own log-in and show you the basics of how to use it.
Yearly Review
Yearly Review
Our yearly reviews take place in January so we can start the year with a clear vision and motivatiated to create great work for our clinets.
For reviews we gather feedback from the wider team via our online form. Which is looking to for insights to the following questions:
- What are aleast three strenghs?
- What are aleast three areas for improvement?
Our Reviews start with a selfassement of what you are most proud of? What you would like to focus on in the year ahead? We’ll discuss team feedback and agree on any potential areas for improvement. Any salery adjustments or title changes will be reviewed at the end.
Reviews are a key part of life at Orangery and are one of many touch points for feeback and to have your opinions heard.
Social stuff
We like to think we are a friendly bunch and we certainly do get on well together. So we try and do something out of the office from time to time that will make us laugh as well as inspire us. Sometimes that may be a trip to London, other times it is just a drink in Guildford after work. It is voluntary and we respect that some of us have family commitments that take priority. But if you can make it we’d love to have you join us. Please do feel free to suggest or organise an event as we don’t always find the time!
